ARE YOU CONSIDERING CHANGING YOUR ACCOUNTANT?

We help simplify the process
We are aware that you are busy with your business and put in every effort to make it successful.
While you work for yourself you expect your accountant to provide proactive advice and should be perfect value for money. If you think your existing accountant is failing to fulfil this role this can be detrimental for your business.

The good news is instead of being unhappy, switching an accountant can make a world of difference.
Rethink about your relationship with your accountants.

Are they falling short on the any of the basics listed above?

If your answer is a yes then it is time to move on and find someone who understands your business and is interested in helping you grow.

Changing your accountant does not put you at risk of investigation by the HMRC. There is no danger of investigation just because you decided to change your accountant.
Got a question? We’re here to help.
  • How easy is it to switch from one accountant to another?

How easy is it to switch from one accountant to another?

We make this process as simple as possible for you

Once you have decided Mintiers Financial is the right choice for you, the first step is to contact us. We book you a FREE, no obligation, consultation so we can understand your circumstances and offer you a fixed fee quote.

We will write to your previous accountant informing them to provide us with all of your accounting and tax records that they possess and we will prove that you have made the decisions to switch accountants.

All accountants are expected to provide the paperwork and records within a reasonable amount of time by their professional bodies - a process that accountants are familiar.

  • How will I let my previous accountant know about the change?

We can contact your previous accountants on your  behalf to communicate that you no longer require their  services, you can instruct us to do it and we make it  easy for you in case you find it awkward to break the  news yourself

  • If I have paid my accountant in full, can I still switch accountants?

You can change accountants at any point in time.

If you have paid in full you can ask for a statement of account to be provided and your previous accountant must provide you with the difference in amount of the work they have completed and the work yet to be completed.

  • Will my accountant charge to hand over information?

If you have already paid for any work your previous  accountant has completed there should not be any  charge for this. This may also depend on your terms  and conditions at the beginning of the contract.

  • Reasons you might want to switch an accountant?
    • Your accountant does not provide the right service or do not understand the nature of your business
    • If your business has outgrown your accountant
    • If your accountants have closed their practice or have decided that your business did not fit their client profile any longer
    • Your accountancy fees are not transparent. You are not sure how much your annual bill will be and keep receiving nasty surprises in the form of add- ons or additional charges
    • Your existing accountancy firm is always busy with big clients and your business is too small and uninteresting for them.
    • Your existing accountant keeps missing deadlines, does not keep up with changes in VAT, PAYE, pension benefit and other legislation which means that you have to pay penalties.
    • They use incomprehensible jargon and make it difficult for you to understand and communicate simple matters.
    • Your accountant never talks to you or communicates face to face with you which results in failure to build trust and client relationship.
    • They never return your calls immediately or take the initiative to discuss your business.
